The manufacturing process of carbon steel elbows mainly includes hot forming, stamping, welding, and casting. The specific process varies depending on the process type.
1. Hot Forming Process
Blank Preparation: Select seamless steel pipes or billets and cut them to appropriate lengths according to the elbow specifications.
Heating:Heat the billet to the plastic deformation temperature using methods such as medium/high frequency induction heating or flame heating.
Push Forming:On a dedicated push forming machine, a mandrel controls the deformation of the billet. A push rod pushes the billet along the gap between the inner and outer dies, gradually expanding the diameter and bending it into shape.
Cooling and Shaping: After forming, allow natural or forced cooling to ensure dimensional stability.
Subsequent Processing: Includes surface treatment (such as sandblasting, galvanizing), and inspection (such as hydrostatic testing or flaw detection).
2. Stamping Process
Blanking: Cut the billet to the design dimensions.
Heating:Heat the billet to a suitable temperature (hot stamping) or perform direct cold stamping.
Stamping Forming: Pressure is applied to the tube blank using a stamping press in a specialized mold, deforming it into an elbow shape.
Heat Treatment: Relieves internal stress and improves material properties.
Surface Treatment and Inspection: Completes anti-corrosion treatment and quality inspection.
3. Welding Process
Segmentation: The medium plate is cut into half of the elbow profile and formed using a press.
Welding: The two halves are welded together to form a single elbow, suitable for large diameters.
Inspection and Treatment: Weld flaw detection, anti-corrosion treatment, and pressure testing are performed.

Advantages of seamless carbon steel elbows
