1. Classification by connection method
1. Welded pipe fittings
Butt-welded pipe fittings: Pipes are welded together and used in high-pressure or large-diameter systems (such as elbows and tees).
Socket-welded pipe fittings: Pipes are inserted into pipe fittings and then welded, suitable for small-diameter or low-pressure scenarios.
2. Threaded pipe fittings
Male thread: such as male elbows and male flexible joints.
Female thread: such as female tees and female plugs.
3. Compression pipe fittings
Use tools to tighten the sealing ring connection, which is easy to install and is commonly found in thin-walled stainless steel water pipe systems.
4. Flange pipe fittings
The flange is fixed by bolts, which is easy to disassemble and maintain, such as flange blind plates and flange elbows.
5. Quick-install pipe fittings (sanitary grade)
Use clamps or quick-install connectors, suitable for food and pharmaceutical industries, easy to clean.
2. Classification by structural shape
1. Elbow
Change the flow direction, common 45°, 90°, 180° specifications, divided into equal diameter and reduced diameter.
2. Tee
Divide or merge, divided into equal diameter tees and reduced diameter tees (such as T-type, Y-type).
3. Cross
Four-way diversion, used for complex piping systems.
4. Reducer
Connect different pipe diameters, divided into concentric reducers (axis alignment) and eccentric reducers (used to avoid cavitation).
5. Cap
Close the end of the pipe to prevent contamination or leakage.
6. Union
Removable connector for easy local maintenance.
7. Stub End
Used with flanges, the end is flanged to enhance the connection strength.
III. Special-purpose pipe fittings
1. Sanitary pipe fittings
Surface polished to Ra≤0.8μm, no dead angle design, in line with food-grade standards (such as DIN, 3A).
2. High-pressure pipe fittings
Thickened design, made of 316L or duplex steel, suitable for petrochemical and nuclear power high-voltage systems.
3. Insulating joints
Built-in insulating material to prevent electrochemical corrosion, commonly used in buried pipelines.
4. Expansion Joints
Compensate for thermal expansion and contraction, reduce pipeline stress.
IV. Other common types
Plug: Temporarily close the pipe mouth.
Pipe Saddle: Used for branch pipe connection.
Pressure measuring joint: Integrated pressure gauge interface for easy monitoring.
The selection of stainless steel pipe fittings needs to be combined with the working pressure, medium characteristics and industry standards (such as GB, ASTM, DIN) to ensure the safety and reliability of the system.
