Methods for detecting corrosion in seamless pipe elbows include: Leakage magnetic flux detection is based on the high permeability of ferromagnetic materials.
The permeability at corrosion defects in seamless steel pipe elbows is much lower than the elbow's overall permeability. The seamless steel pipe elbow is magnetized under the influence of an external magnetic field. When the seamless steel pipe elbow is defect-free, most magnetic lines of force pass through the steel pipe and are evenly distributed; when defects exist inside the seamless steel pipe elbow, the magnetic lines of force bend, and some leak from the surface of the steel pipe. Detecting the magnetic flux leaking from the surface of the magnetized seamless steel pipe elbow can determine the presence of defects. Ultrasonic testing utilizes the principle of ultrasonic pulse reflection to measure the thickness of the corroded pipe wall. This process uses a self-propagating centrifugal casting method, mainly utilizing the chemical reaction of the material itself, generating high temperatures through exothermic combustion, and synthesizing new substances during the propagation of the combustion wave.
During the testing process, the probe emits ultrasonic pulses perpendicularly towards the inner wall of the seamless pipe elbow. The probe first receives reflected pulses from the inner surface of the pipe wall, and then receives reflected pulses from the outer surface. The distance between this pulse and the reflected pulse from the inner surface reflects the thickness of the pipe wall. Bending: refers to processing pipes into seamless elbows, generally referring to metal pipes and PVC electrical conduits used in the plumbing industry; bent seamless pipe fittings elbows: refer to seamless metal pipe fittings elbows in the water supply and drainage field. Small-diameter seamless pipe fittings elbows can be obtained through bending.
