First, determine the material flowing through the pipe. If the pressure in a general water plant pipeline is low, a straight seam elbow is more cost-effective. Straight seam elbows are made by pushing straight seam steel pipe. For high-temperature applications, seamless elbows are essential for better pressure resistance. If the pipe is used in chemical or corrosive equipment, stainless steel or alloy materials should be selected.

Second, large-diameter, thick-walled elbows withstand high pressure, so flaw detection welding should be performed. X-rays should be taken after welding to check for air holes and inclusions.

Third, consider the price. Many small workshops use second-hand scrap steel pipe to push elbows. The material cannot guarantee a long lifespan and has a short service life.

Fourth, how can you buy high-quality products at a relatively affordable price? You can choose short-radius elbows while ensuring the material and wall thickness. Typically, a 1.5d long radius elbow is chosen, while a 1d short radius elbow is chosen. The pressure-resistant material and wall thickness ensure that the pipe will not have problems, but the cost can vary significantly.
